Lentil Burgers

A filling burger with low fat and low salt

INGREDIENTS

2 cups cooked lentils
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup of hummus
1 tbsp Worcestshire sauce
3 tbsp of vegetable oil

METHOD

Mash lentils with a fork and add the remaining ingredients except oil.

Heat oil in a large skillet. Form lentil mixture into patties and fry until golden brown on both sides, turning once.

Serve as is, or in a pita bread with alfalfa sprouts and a juliane of red and orange bell peppers
